Landing in Mauritius is straightforward if your paperwork is sorted before you board: the process runs through temperature screening, Immigration, Health, baggage, and Customs in that order, and having your digital form ready at each stage is what actually saves you time.

What do I need before I even board?

Before your flight, complete the digital Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form (also referred to as the All-in-One Health Declaration Form) and keep the generated QR code accessible — you'll present it at both Immigration and Health counters. At check-in and border control, you'll also need: a passport valid beyond 6 months of your intended stay, a valid visa/entry permit if applicable, a return or onward ticket, proof of funds (minimum USD 100 per day), and a confirmed accommodation booking. Because of these checks, international passengers are advised to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure — the same document set applies on arrival.

What happens right after you step off the plane?

Before you even reach the Immigration Hall, Health Officers conduct temperature screening as part of disembarkation. This is part of reinforced entry screening, risk assessment and monitoring measures in place since 8 June 2026 in connection with Ebola virus disease public health measures, so don't be surprised by extra scrutiny at this stage.

How does Immigration and Health clearance work?

Once through screening, you'll enter the International Immigration Hall, where overhead displays direct you to the correct queue based on your status — Resident, Visitor, Crew member, or Premium Class. At the Immigration counter, present your passport and travel documents. At the Health Counter, show your Travel Form QR code and passport; if you're over 1 year old and arriving from a potential yellow fever-infected area, you'll also need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate.

Where do I get my bags and head onward?

Baggage collection is on Level 1 — check the Flight Information Display for your belt number; oversized items come through the Out of Gauge belt next to Belt 1. From there, clear Customs: take the Green Channel if you have nothing to declare, or the Red Channel if you're carrying dutiable or prohibited goods.

What about cash and onward transport?

For local currency, there's an MCB ATM on Level 0 in the Arrival Left Wing near Door 04. If you're driving yourself, car rental services are available after Customs clearance, making it a logical next step once you're through.
